Vat Exemption

If you have a disability, short or long term impairment, or chronic illness, you can claim VAT exemption, simply complete the VAT Exemption Declaration in the My Details section of this website. Please note however, subsequent claims for VAT exemption cannot be accepted after the order has been submitted; it must be received at time of ordering.  It is an offence to claim VAT exemption when not appropriate. Not all products are VAT exemptable.

Please note VAT exemption applies to the product only, VAT is applicable to delivery/carriage costs.

Customer VAT exemption

If you have a chronic illness or long term disability you may qualify for VAT relief. VAT relief is controlled by HM Revenue & Customs and applies only to those products where we show “Excluding VAT prices”.

Who can claim VAT relief on purchases?

Individuals: If you have a chronic illness or long term disability and the products are for your personal use. Full details can be found at the HM Customs and Excise website, Notice 701/7.

Registered Charities: Where the goods are made available by the registered charity to a disabled person for their personal or domestic use. Full details can be found at the HM Customs and Excise website, Notice 701/7.

Non-eligible customers: If you are not eligible for VAT relief, we are obliged to charge you the full prevailing VAT rate on the whole of your order.

Which products are eligible for VAT relief?

VAT relief is only available on items where ‘Exc. VAT’ (Excluding VAT) prices are shown.
